Who are 'Discount Wood Blinds'?
We are a small family business specialising in high quality bespoke window treatments. Much of the work that we do is very specialised and not suitable for selling online, however we are also specialists in the simpler areas of our field such as wooden venetian blinds. At last count we had in excess of 500 samples of wood venetian blinds from various manufacturers and from that number we have selected this range of blinds as offering above average quality and value. In our shop www.changingcurtains.co.uk we sell these blinds for RRP plus measuring and fitting if required. Discount Wood Blinds is designed to expand our business and offer an excellent value product to a far wider audience than we can through our full service retail shop. Our costs on this additional business are lower therefore we are able to offer a genuine discount on price while still maintaining a high standard of service. Fitting these blinds is not difficult for any competent person, full instructions are available here and also included with your blinds. No, our low prices include VAT, no hidden charges, nothing extra to pay.

We gather certain information to allow us to despatch the right product to the right address.
All of your Credit or Debit Card details are taken by “Worldpay” or “PayPal” whichever you prefer. The most secure payment methods we are aware of. If you already have a PayPal account you will be aware of how secure this method is, “Worldpay” is a subsidiary of The Royal Bank of Scotland, a major financial institution offering secure payment.
Real Wood Blinds are a Natural Product.
Although we do our best to make sure that the colours printed on our web site are accurate, differences in monitors and/or settings mean that there will be some variations. If an exact colour match is required please do ask for samples and even then you must accept that as with any natural product, especially wood, there will be variations within the batch and between dye lots.
Which slat size should I choose ?
The choice is yours.
Narrower slats 25mm are closer together giving some extra privacy.
Wider slats 50mm are wider apart giving a clearer view
35mm are in between
There is no right or wrong answer - its personal preference
Why are there pelmet options?
Pelmets with wooden returns can finish the product better, can look better and traditionally have only been available on much more expensive products. We have fitted hundreds of these blinds and the difference is in the detail, some other sites selling products they have no experience of fitting only do flat pelmets. With our blinds you can have the option and for most people that is good.
Changing your order or returning blinds?
Changes or cancellation can only take place within 12 hours of ordering, after this time your blind will have entered the production system and it will be made. As a made-to-measure product made to your specifications, blinds may only be returned if faulty, in which case we will repair or replace as necessary. For the quickest resolution of any problems use email - photos can be very helpful.
Can you send me a brochure?
Sorry no. DiscountWoodBlinds.co.uk is designed to minimise the cost of selling blinds and pass this saving on to you. Our website is regularly updated and should contain all the information you need to measure, order and install your blinds.
Do you provide samples?
Of course, please just click on the sample button - you can order up to 3 samples.
How long will I have to wait for my blinds?
We aim to alter and despatch your blinds within 3-5 days of receiving your order, many if not most deliveries are in 4-7 days of placing the order, because of the invariable peaks and troughs of any business we ask you to allow 7-10 working days for your blinds to arrive. We recommend you do not book any tradesperson to fit them until they have arrived.
Do you provide fitting instructions, screws and hardware?
Packed in with each blind are complete fitting instructions, brackets and screws suitable for fitting to a secure wooden surface. There are too many variations for us to be able to provide fixings for all eventualities (concrete, plasterboard, lath and plaster, metal, etc) if in doubt consult an experienced tradesperson. It is sometimes useful to mount a secure batten on the wall and then fix your blind to this secure foundation.
What if my blind doesn’t fit?
Measuring is the responsibility of the customer. If a measuring error occurs please take digital photos, email us, we will do all we can to help.
If the blind can be modified we will charge you only the actual cost of the modification plus courier costs. If the blind has to be re-made we will discount the new blind, we may need to collect the old blind.
